Who are we?
We are DMK - the Welsh Estate Agents with a Passion for People & Property! Yep, we know it's a pretty cringey tagline, but every word of it is true. We are a small team based from our branch in Maesteg, Bridgend, and as we are conveniently located just 15 minutes from two junctions along the M4, we are perfectly situations to offer letting and management services across South Wales.
How did we come to be?
After many years of working for other well-established corporate estate agents, David Morgan-Kane (our Director) had a moment of realisation, that he had to launch his own company with his own personal touch. In preparation for launch, David interviewed many landlords, homeowners, tenants and contractors, to obtain a clear understanding of what customers want to see from an agent. Armed with this info, and a determination to make an impact, DMK Residential was born in March 2020.

What is the vision for the future?
Throughout 2025, a strong emphasis has been placed on developing our infrastructure, perfecting our processes, and reviewing the little details that make up our service. As we continue to grow, we never stop learning, and we never stop moving forward.

DMK Residential was born, initially only offering lettings and property management services across South Wales. It didn't take long, because on 3rd March, we had successfully let agreed our first 2 properties.
April 2020 - the Covid-19 pandemic
Yep, that's right! Less than a month after launching, the Covid-19 pandemic shocked the world, and imposed massive restrictions on our ability to offer our service to the world. We had to adapt very quickly to firm government restrictions, forcing us to make the very difficult decision to postpone our planned branch launch, and to run as a lettings only agency based from home.
June 2020 - first employees
Recruiting and growing our team as a home-based business, presented multiple challenges, on top of the global pandemic. Recruiting staff is a challenge in itself, but doing so without being able to meet them in person, and create an efficient work environment when they are based from home, is an incredibly complex dynamic to navigate. Despite this, June and July of 2020 saw the successful recruitment of 2 home-based employees, to assist with serving our clients.

January 2021 - re-branding
As we grew to offer commercial lettings services, it felt right that we branded from DMK Residential, to DMK Estate Agents.
September 2022 - Maesteg branch
After 2+ years of navigating the company through a global pandemic, we were offered the opportunity to finally launch our branch in the wonderful town of Maesteg. Maesteg was the town that our Director had spent many years working in, prior to launch. So when we were given the chance to launch our branch here, it felt like fate.
October 2022 - sales department
Shortly after finally launching the Maesteg branch, we launched our residential sales department.
December 2022 - the DMK Christmas party
As previously restricted by Covid-19 regulations, we were finally able to celebrate Christmas as a team. Maesteg town centre never saw us coming, and what a brilliant evening it became.
June 2023 - solicitor panel
Established the DMK Panel of Approved Solicitors, which has allowed us to provide legal referrals to home buyers and sellers.
August 2024 - new tech
The importance of reliable technology is never more apparent when things don't work, and after nearly 4 years of battles, we made the difficult decision to overhaul the technology service providers. These software providers are the core of our infrastructure, so this was always going to be a tall order. Fortunately, it proved to be the right move.
March 2025 - Self-Sell (BETA)
Determined to provide home sellers with more cost effective solutions, we conducted BETA testing on our Self-Sell option. This allows home sellers the opportunity to manage their own home-selling journey for a reduced price, whilst still maintaining access to the tools and guidance of an experienced agent.
May 2025 - PAYGO Management Service (BETA)
Following the successful testing of our Self-Sell service, we launched a management service that allows property owners to further customise and construct their own management package.
